Designer Rajlakshmi’s Fashion beyond Boundaries – Promotes Global Peace and Understanding

In an attempt to promote global peace and understanding, designer Rajlakshmi Syam organized a fashion show titled “Fashion beyond Boundaries” recently. Consulate General of US Mission Craig Hall inaugurated the event along with the designer Rajlakshmi Syam, Parijat Chakraborty and others.

The socio-cultural event with the aim of promoting global peace and understanding saw representatives of different nations walk the ramp in Indo-Western clothes designed by ace designer Rajlakshmi Syam. The clothes are made from Indian handlooms and embellished with Zardozi works.


The representatives from different nations who walked the ramp at this event include Fariza Sheralieva (Tajikistan), Monic Nambundunga (Namibia), Miss Kanokwan Jayadat (Thailand), Verity Danfold, Uyen Posner, Anna Hall, Ariba (US), Katrina (Moscow), Parijat Chakraborty and Cathy Park.

The event saw Rajlakshmi Syam perform on the piano and she was accompanied by Pandit Gopal Banerjee on the Tabla.


Speaking about the event, Rajlakshmi said “With this fashion show I am simply highlighting the Indian Vedic tradition of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam which means that the world is one family. This is the reason why I requested these individuals from different countries to come and showcase my dresses for this unique fashion show”.

The fashion event also saw the presence of Singer Lagnajita, actor Shataf Figar, director Manoj Michigan and others.


Parijat Chakraborty who is a fan of the creations of Rajlakshmi said “I have always been a fan of her works. I have worn her dresses and saris to many events. They are extremely easy to wear and made from such good quality materials. I am glad that Rajlakshmi di asked me to walk the ramp with the dignitaries from other countries”.

The fashion event was therefore high on music and style and also helped in conveying good mutual understanding between nations.
