Fashion Exhibition Looms, Weaves and More Inaugurated

A three day exhibition of Indian weaves and crafts was inaugurated in the august presence of Tanusree Shankar. Organized by Sanchita Ghosh and Maitreyee Pathak (who are partners of the company Aesthetique), the exhibition aimed to give the rural artisans and weavers a platform to showcase their products.

An array of products was on display at the exhibition. Baskets, bags, home linen, carpets, silver jewelry, kurtis, shawls, stoles, saris in traditional Indian weaves were some of the products from which the customers could select from.

Ace dancer and choreographer Tanusree Shankar was visibly excited on seeing the huge variety of Indian handlooms available at the event. “I was not even aware that many award winning weavers have also showcased their products at the event. This is a great event to come to just before the pujas. One can pick a wide variety of Indian accessories and dresses and flaunt them during the upcoming festive season” said Tanusree Shankar.

The ace dancer also highlighted on the fact that Indian dresses should be the dress code of the younger generation during the festive time. “I often tell the younger generation that you may dress up in Western wear throughout the year. But during the five days of festivity, dressing in Indian styles should be opted for!!” added the dancer.

Looms, Weaves and More turned out to be a huge success for both the weavers and their customers.
