The team of the upcoming Bollywood film Identity Card consisting of Tia Bajpai, Vipin Sharma and Furquan Merchant was in the city for the promotion of their film and in between all the promotion frenzy the team turned up for the inauguration of Kolkata Fashion Fair (KFF)- Pehchan which is in its fifteenth edition.

Kolkata witnesses numerous events like trade fairs, industrial fairs, exhibitions and other kinds of fairs. However, KFF – Pehchan stands out from the other fashion fairs due to its originality, content and feel. The exhibitors, showcasing over hundred trends from all over the country like Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jaipur and Maharashtra participated in the fair and made the fairground a cornucopia of Indian art and culture. The speciality of KFF – Pehchan probably lies in its emphasis on projecting regional fashion at par with national ones and in keeping with this very philosophy, the current edition had stalls for handloom sarees from Bhagalpur as well as designer sarees from Shantikinetan.

Speaking at the inauguration Tia Bajpayee said “The moment I entered I was like I want to start shopping right now. But since I do not have the time, I will surely be coming back and purchasing some items. I want to come disguised and shop from all the stalls. I like the Bengali saris so much, especially the ones with the red borders. Moreover the collection at the fair is just awesome”. The actress liked a black sari with heavy embroidery.

Fairs of such stature should be organized more often so that more regional arts can be promoted on the national level as well as people can enjoy the experience of shopping from exclusive stores.
