India Haat inaugurated by the cast of Bengali Film “1+1=3”; Director Ashoke Vishwanathan Praises the Unique Collection

Organized by Rotary Club of Calcutta Mahanagar, India Haat is in its 8th Edition this year. India Haat is an exhibition-cum-sale of ethnic art and craft products. The exhibition cum sale was inaugurated by noted film maker Ashoke Vishwanathan and actor Debdut Ghosh (who are part of the Bengali film 1+1=3). The inauguration was done at Ice Skating Rink premises.

The three day fair has a great collection of hand crafted items. The wide collection at the fair have always enjoyed the patronage of the celebrities in the city. The merchandise from all over the country is on display in this exhibition cum sale.   Some of these products include jewelry paintings on marble, kid’s bean bags, finest Hand Crafted Pariah Porcelain, handcrafted artifacts, metal handicrafts, home décor and furnishing, purses, bags, fashion accessories, table wares and pottery.

To provide a delightful and aesthetically pleasing ambience, the main gate, foyer and all the studios and stalls of the fair have been specially decorated.

Ashoke Vishwanathan and Debdut Ghosh were visibly pleased with the huge collection at the fair and even checked out a few items.

The proceeds from the three day event will be used for various charitable activities undertaken by the Rotary Club of Calcutta Mahanagar. This includes free heart surgeries for needy children, free cataract surgeries for the under privileged at its Eye Hospital (Hari Charan Garg Rotary Mahanagar Netralaya), blood donation helpline, disaster relief, scholarships and upcoming Dialysis Center.
