Swetambaree is an exclusive boutique for designer Sarees, Suits and Lehengas and is the brain child of home maker turned designer Sweta Goekna who, having already wooed here Kolkata clients with the exquisite designs, is currently working on giving her brand a national platform.

This tastefully designed boutique, located in Salt Lake in Kolkata in a quiet neighborhood is an absolute revelation when it comes to the collection of dresses that it hosts. Right from slithering chiffons to gaudy anarkalis and bridal lehengas, this boutique has an envious collection of all kinds of garments that Indian women look their best in and that too at amazing prices.

This boutique, apart from its gorgeous collection was recently in the news because of its association with the New Kolkata Bangla Movie Ramdhanu starring Indian Tollywood Actress Rachana Banerjee where the sarees worn by the pretty actress have been sponsored by the boutique. In order to celebrate this wonderful association with such a beautiful content driven movie, the boutique had recently hosted a press meet in which was present the leading lady of the movie Rachana Banerjee.

Speaking at the occasion, Rachana who personally prefers wearing Westerns said, that she is really thankful to Swetambaree for partnering with the styling and creative team of the movie and eventually coming up with such beautiful sarees that not only did she enjoy wearing but also have the potential of making  a statement of their own.

It was also interesting to note that Sweta Goenka, whose brain child Swetambaree is, does not have any formal training in designing and all her creations are solely the result of her passion and love for the art. Ms. Goenka, who had designed her first sari when she was pregnant with her first child is now planning to try her hands at the Indo-Westren style of garments and is quite sure about excelling in that genre too.

Women like Mrs. Goenka stand out as role models for the modern Indian designers as their creations simply carry the statement that it is love for the art and not high-end collaborations that ensure one’s success in the world of fashion.
