Marriage is a special day in the life of both the bride and the bridegroom. Hence it has to be ensured that the dress matches the occasion. Aligning with this idea, ace designer Jaya Misra launched her Rajwada bridal Collection. The autumn-winter collection was unveiled by the soon to be married real life couple model-actor Dimpy Ganguly and her fiancé Rohit Roy.

The Rajwada Collection is inspired by the lifestyle of the old kings and queens and has a royal feel and look to it. The collection has an assorted range of saris, anarkalis, suits with jackets and gowns. Velvet, raw silk, organza, net, brocade, satin and georgette have been used in the making of this collection. Blue, red, pink golden have been used in the collection.

“There was a demand for my lehengas among the masses and hence in order to cater to this need, I have introduced both heavy and light weight dresses. The prices are also very pocketfriendly” said the ace designer.

Model-actor Dimpy Ganguly looking resplendent in the bridal attire said “Jaya is a dear friend and I did not have to tell her what I want for my trousseau. I have had the opportunity of wearing dresses made by many designers in the country but I like the way Jaya makes the dresses. She has been living in Kolkata for many years and she understands the Bengali bride very well. Moreover her dresses are so very gorgeous. Hence she was the choice for the bridal trousseau”.

The actress also revealed that she selected the dress according to the occasion that she was attending. She also said “I have been wearing saris from a small age and hence I am very comfortable wearing it. I can carry both Indian and Western dresses easily”. When asked about how she felt about her upcoming marriage, Dimpy was all smiles. “It is a big event and pulling it off successfully is a huge challenge. How should a bride feel is a complicated question. I feel so many emotions at the same time- anticipation, anxiety, sadness, happiness, excitement” said Dimpy.

The price range for both male and female dresses starts from Rs 8000 to Rs 50000 while the bridal collection starts from Rs 55000.
